Please join us at 3pm on Historic Whitney Field, Mead Avenue, Downtown Aiken. Call the hotline for updates: 803-643-3611.

Greetings all and welcome to the Fall 2016 edition of Sunday Polo at Aiken Polo Club’s historic Whitney Field this Sunday September 25th.  Whitney boasts 134 years of continuously played polo and we are thrilled to have you join us and be a part of it! We are proudly hosting two great events right now:  the USPA Governors Cup 6 goal and the USPA Copper Cup 12 goal. For a complete schedule of each of these tournaments, please visit our events page.

We have added two wonderful new events to our line-up of tournaments for the fall of 2016.   We are offering the USPA Aiken Women’s Challenge featuring some of the world’s finest women players competing in two flights of polo over five days October 12-16.  We will also be adding the USPA Middle School League tournament hosted by Firestar Farm at their arena located at 3289 Camp Rawls Road, Wagener, 29164 the weekend of October 8-9!  We can’t wait to have you come out and see polo’s up-and-coming superstars in action.

This week we invite your to invest in your future by meeting and greeting with our generous food and beverage sponsor Edward Jones Investments representative Alicia Kough and her team. Thank you Alicia for your generous sponsorship, and Mouth of the South for providing refreshments!  The bar will be provided for your enjoyment by The Willcox and sponsored this week by Aiken Polo Club.

At halftime we welcome you to test your skill by hopping up on the hitting horse and giving it a shot.  Please plan on helping us put the field back into shape for the second half by participating in our traditional divot stomp.

We also welcome you to view the beautiful new brick floor that has just been completed in the Alan Lyle Corey III pavilion this week.  We thank Geoff and Shannon Ellis for heading up this project and Enviroscape for all the hard work in getting it finished as planned for your enjoyment. The commemorative bricks will be installed later this season so there is still time to order one if you haven’t already. Please go to our Buy A Brick page for an order form or to buy online.

Parking Passes & Entrances

For those of you who have paid for your memberships and have not your parking passes yet, they will be available at the Mead Road entrance to Whitney field. Please retain your laminated parking pass for the duration of the fall season.

If you already have a pass in your possession, please proceed to your space and then head on over to the entrance to the Alan Lyle Corey pavilion (located on the back side near the tower) to pick up your wristbands for admission to the pavilion. Please plan on picking up new wristbands each Sunday for pavilion admission at this same location.

If you have not paid for your pass, please contact either our social coordinator Katherine Thomas (803) 443-4940 or seahorseaiken@gmail.com, or our treasurer Barb Uskup (803) 295-3199 or buskup@meadowhillllc.com to arrange for payment.  If you are planning on bringing a check, or paying by credit card the day of the first game please plan on pulling into the sand lot and coming to the pavilion entrance to make payment prior to proceeding to the field side parking entrance.  We ask that you follow this procedure to prevent a bottleneck at the entrance.

Please remember to use the entrance from Knox Avenue usually provided for access by space holders on the NON-pavilion side of the field, unless you have not picked up your pass (see above).

For field assignments for all games and for daily information please call the Aiken Polo hotline at 803-643-3611.

Please direct any inquiries regarding your membership to me, Katherine Thomas, I look forward to ensuring that your polo experience is the best it can be!

Thank you again for your support!

Cheers,

Katherine
